Dear Friends in Ministry
We are excited to be hosting a 1001 New Worshiping Communities Regional Gathering in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our event will be on Saturday, March 4th (9-3) at First Presbyterian Church of Hayward. It will be a time to talk about the 1001 movement, inspire one another, and be excited about church renewal. The gathering is not only for those that are interested in 1001 but are looking for ideas to their own congregations as well.
In the morning, we will be looking at the big picture of evangelism and where God calls us to be. The afternoon will feature workshops by Jeanie Shaw (Eventide, Sacramento Presbytery), Ryan Althaus (Sweaty Sheep- Santa Cruz, San Jose Presbytery), and Jake Medcalf (First Presbyterian Hayward, San Francisco Presbytery). There they will share their heart and experiences for New Worshiping Community work and where God has led them in their journeys. Worship will be led by Small Town Missional Community, a New Worshiping Community based at FPC Hayward.
This gathering is a gift from the Presbyterian Mission Agency. However, we will be taking a free will offering for a local mission project. Registration will be taken at the door and you can preregister at www.pcusa.org/1001sf.
On Friday night, we will be having an optional dinner at a local restaurant if you would like to connect with other leaders. More information will follow on that dinner.
