Cameron House and Rev. Greg Chan

Excerpt:
From Dr. Thomas Pong, Board President, Donaldina Cameron House

The Reverend Gregory L. Chan has been chosen as the Interim Director and will begin in October to provide continued leadership.  We will begin a thorough search for the next Executive Director. Reverend Chan and I will be providing an update on this transition in the upcoming weeks.

Sincerely,

Dr. Thomas Pong

Dear Friends and Colleagues—

After about 7 months of retirement from a public agency I’m going back to work (for only 6 months)—formally starting in mid-October but really starting now; appointed to be the Interim Executive Director of the non-profit that got me off the SF streets and introduced me to our faith back in the day, cameronhouse.org.

The Presbyterian related non-profit works with immigrants, youth, young adults, individuals and their families in order to turn lives around from dysfunction-poverty-illness-despair, facilitating their contribution toward a healthy society.  Christian faith is put into action to help people learn, heal, thrive and make a difference.

Founded in 1874, Cameron House has a unique place in the heart of San Francisco’s Chinatown, where it has served the changing needs: addressing domestic violence, immigration, cancer support, addressing youth issues, food assistance, adult education, counseling, advocacy…

I’m looking forward to working with the enthusiastic staff and wide array of supporters.  Wish me good fortune. By the grace of God.

Greg
