The Presbytery of San Francisco will have its first meeting of 2019 on Tuesday, February 12th  First Presbyterian Church of Richmond, 3415 Barrett Avenue in Richmond.

Greetings from the Stated Clerk in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  After three months serving in the Presbytery of San Francisco as Stated Clerk, it is clear that there are knowledgeable, committed and compassionate servants of God in our presbytery. I have received calls, cards, emails and voice messages offering support and prayers. Thank you for your expressions of encouragement for our Presbytery and the journey ahead. I feel both privileged, humbled and blessed to have been called to this position. Thank you all and thank God for the opportunity.

Major items of business at this meeting includes:

  • The formation of the Administrative Commission for Latinos Unidos en Cristo/Igreja Presbiteriana Brasileira
  • The amendment to the Standing Rules regarding the COM
  • Discussion of OGA proposal 18C that was pulled from the docket at the last meeting
  • A Second reading of major revisions of “Sexual Misconduct Policy” and “Personnel Employee Handbook”
  • 6 Area Ministries during Open Spaces has something for everyone including a Bible Study and Prayer Stations for Lent

Our offering will go for Presbytery Deacon’s Fund for pastors needing emergency assistance.

The May Presbytery meeting will be on the 14th at Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church in Lafayette.  In 2019, we will have only four business meetings per year and one “Presbytery Enrichment Day” with speaker or workshops or event or training designed to capture everyone’s attention and send everyone home better equipped to proclaim and live out the Gospel.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
