Meeting Date: Saturday, April 28, 2018
Registration: Opens at 9:30 a.m.
Location: Valley Presbyterian Church
945 Portola Road, Portola Valley, CA 94028
The Presbytery of San Francisco next meets on Saturday, April 28th at Valley Presbyterian Church in Portola Valley, 945 Portola Rd.
This is “Presbytery Day” in which the focus is on an outside presenter bringing new ideas of value to the entire Presbytery. Many congregations are reading Canoeing the Mountains by Rev. Dr. Tod Bolsinger, Vice President at Fuller Seminary and he is joining us for 2 hours following lunch for an interactive presentation on “Leading in Unchartered Territory”. We also have tried to reduce business to a minimum with our one major business being the joyful examination of three Inquirers moving to Candidate status. Due to conflation of docket on a Saturday, there will be no Open Space events. We will also continue experimenting with Consent Docket and Omnibus Motion to reduce actual meeting time.
Business this meeting includes:
- Extending contract of Transitional Stated Clerk
- Final “Second Reading” of proposed revision to Standing Rules to increase flexibility, make the Standing Rules consistent with existing structure and changes to Book of Order, and reduce required number of members on committees (among the changes). To be voted on at June Presbytery meeting.
We will once again offer simultaneous translation of the meeting for those for whom English is not their primary language.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
