2012 January Packet

Meeting Location: Grace Presbyterian Church in Walnut Creek 

Happy New Year Presbytery of San Francisco!
Hopefully, you all are already experiencing a blessed year and haven’t broken any resolutions yet. I am excited to be serving as your moderator this year alongside Jim Coll who is Vice Moderator. As a New Year’s resolution for the presbytery, there will be changes to the presbytery meetings throughout the year. For the January 31st meeting, I would like to highlight some changes and important items on the docket to pay attention to.

We will begin implementing an omnibus report at each meeting, which is more of a detailed consent agenda. Also, the presbytery meeting will begin with a brief installation worship of Theresa Cho and Jim Coll. Rev. Kamal Hassan will be giving the charge to the moderator and Theresa Cho will be giving the charge to the presbytery.

Also slated for this meeting are the election of General Assembly commissioners and overtures. I strongly encourage you to do your homework and read the background material so that you are prepared. Come ready to learn more and share in discussion over these overtures.

Our outgoing moderator, Rev. Roger Reaber will be preaching during evening worship. Also as our commitment to the mission and ministry of the Presbytery, you will have an opportunity to bring your church’s mission pledge forms that were mailed last year in November.
