First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley is seeking qualified candidates to serve as a culinary trainee. This position is 14 hours a week without benefits. This individual will prepare, serve, and clean up Sunday meals and other events. Work in partnership with the Hospitality Director, other kitchen staff, and volunteers to help create and sustain a hospitable environment.
Responsibilities include: cooking lunch (90%) special events (10%). Assisting the director with the preparation of food and coffee, setting the buffets and dining room, serving the meals, working with volunteers, cleaning the kitchen, doing dishes, and storing leftovers. On average a meal will serve 200 people.
Requirements include: strong values in workmanship, communication and teachability. Previous kitchen experience is a bonus.
Position reports to Hospitality Director.
