First Presbyterian Church of Livermore*, California is an active, multi-generational church of about 600 members. The program staff currently consists of a Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, Director of Children, Youth & Families, Director of Music, Director of Church Operations and Coordinator of Connections Ministry.

Interim Associate Pastor job description

The ideal Interim Associate Pastor candidate will bring energy to the spiritual leadership of the congregation by fostering community relationships and connecting with our members in a relationally authentic way.

The particular ministry areas this candidate will oversee will depend on the strengths and passions that the person brings to the position.  Under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, the Interim Associate Pastor will participate in leadership of several possible ministry areas including worship, outreach, mission and service, discipleship, bible studies as well as pastoral/congregational care.

The Interim Associate Pastor will also work with the congregation on the developmental tasks of interim ministry. In particular, this person will help the congregation work through its feelings associated with the recent departure of an associate pastor while helping us to discern and discover how the Spirit of God is leading our church into its next season of ministry.

This position is a three-quarter to full time position.
