Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church – Assistant Director of Youth Ministry

Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church is looking for qualified applicants to be the Assistant Director of Youth Ministry. This is a part-time (20 hours/week) position with flexible hours. The position reports to the Director of Youth Ministry. The pay starts at $22.00/hour with an expected start date of September 1, 2021.

Purpose of Position: At Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church (SVPC) our mission is to be “Rooted in Christ and Reaching out in Love.” Having a strong Youth Ministry program that loves and nurtures our middle and high school aged students is critical to this mission. As the Assistant Director for Youth Ministry you will develop communications, programs, and relationships in support of SVPC Youth Ministry. You will provide consistent and reliable support and volunteer management for Youth Ministry team members, both staff and volunteers, so that SVPC can nurture faithful and healthy youth (grades 6-12) community members. This includes working with church members (both active and inactive), visitors, and conducting outreach to the external community. You will become an integral part of the lives of our youth, demonstrating concern for their well being and building relationships with students and parents at church activities as well as in their lives outside of church functions (such as school functions or sporting events.)

Primary Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Deliver programming that nurtures our youth; build relationships with students and parents; provide operational and logistical support for weekly programming and retreats.

Qualifications (include but not limited to): Exhibits strong connection to youth, especially middle schoolers; good communication skills; highly organized and self-motivated.
