Committee on Representation, Empowerment, and Belonging (CORBE)
“More than just being seen or feeling included, belonging entails having a voice and the opportunity to use it to make demands upon society and political institutions. Belonging is more than having access; it is about the power to co-create the structures that shape a community.” (Othering & Belonging Institute – University of California at Berkeley)
The Committee on Representation, Belonging, and Empowerment (CORBE) is to ensure that the rich diversity of the membership of the Presbytery of San Francisco is fully expressed by:
- Guaranteeing full participation and access to representation in the decision-making of the Church;
- Advocating for diversity in leadership;
- Advising the Presbytery of San Francisco regarding the implementation of principles of unity and diversity; and
- Correcting past patterns of racial discrimination.
