First Presbyterian Church of Concord – Solo Pastor
About this position
First Presbyterian Church of Concord is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Solo Pastor position. This is a full-time position that will provide preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.
Position Overview
We need a pastor who can cast a vision for our own evolution: from a suburban church into an urban spiritual home that serves and welcomes our diverse neighborhood. We need a pastor who will lead our congregation not only in service but in Sunday school lessons and the walk of life.
Primary Responsibilities
- Preach and teach Bible lessons
- Supervise church staff
- Strong relational and administrative capabilities
- Pastoral care and spiritual counseling
- Nurturing our partnerships with five on-site churches, a Christian Preschool, and five non-profit organizations
- Facility maintenance and capital improvements, including infrastructure upgrades, building renovations, and property upkeep
- Fostering meaningful outreach initiatives, developing programs that serve our neighbors, and championing new opportunities that align with our mission
Leadership Responsibilities
- Inspires and leads others by example, participates in staff mentoring and training, clearly defines team member expectations and responsibilities, empowers others, and delegates where appropriate based on team members’ recognized abilities and potential
- In collaboration with team members, contributes to a clear and consistent work plan to achieve the church budget, staffing, and schedule
- Actively engages in internal professional development opportunities
