Sleep. Prayer. Possibility. Priorities.
As the disciples slept, Jesus prayed for strength to face the cross, “Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me; yet, not what I want, but what you want.” (Mark 14:36) Or, as The Message translation reads, “Papa, Father, you can—can’t you?—get me out of this. Take this cup away from me. But please, not what I want—what do you want?”
What would you rather do sleep, pray, or discern if you are to follow your own desires or God’s? At first glance, the easy choice would be to sleep. However, for anyone with insomnia, or a mind that races and will not stop, sleep may not be the answer. Read More
